This Week In Badger Class…
Badgers had a very energetic start to their week and simply haven’t stopped! We began by creating a class version of the Haka to an upbeat St Giles’ School assembly song. PE is always a fun start to our week! We continued through with silly sentence making which involved a giant teddy, crunchy leaves, wobbly jelly … and a puzzle! Our sentences were so funny, we ended up turning them into a new class game and have had great fun playing with them.
We ventured off to Wiggery Woods again this week and the Year Two Badgers investigated symmetry in leaves. This proved to be a hard task to find as we like to be precise in Badgers and some of the leaves were just not symmetrical enough! Fractions was another area of maths that we tackled with joy, sticks and leaves!
Our week also featured a gentle introduction to ‘Think around a number’ in which we discover as much maths as we can think of related to a certain number. This was a collaborative learning experience with the Hedgehogs, which made it even more fun. Number 50 was the number of the day… We counted, measured, made lots of calculations to 50 and we even put 50 candles on a birthday cake!
And so another week has come to an end in Badger Class!
